Seeking Perfection

A quick tour of Perfection.

From the cockpit we have the galley to starboard, fridge to port. Quarter berth to port.

The saloon is set up with a full table, with an option to drop the leaf or drop the table fully to create a double bed.

Forward to starboard is the head with an electric TMC toilet, a 50 litre hold tank or direct exit.

The forward vee double berth is light and airy.

The rear quarter berth is generous, but the mattress needs recovering (all the green ones want attention).

Behinds the companion way steps is the engine.

Volvo Penta 2002 18 HP engine, driving a two bladed folding prop via a sail drive. Run hours are unknown.

Regular servicing by OVLOV at Pine Harbour, and oil and filter changes every 6 months.

We currently have a fuel leak (sight glass) and possible water leak (impeller) that OVLOV will resolve prior to sale.

A compressor driven fridge/freezer. We’ve just serviced the fridge (moisture filter). The team at Eastern Marine are fixing the compressor bracket before we re-gas.

It’ll freeze everything in time if we run it for more than 30 minutes!

  • From cockpit steps

The interior in the evening with the LED lights on. Warm lights in the main cabin, white lights in the head and forward V berth.

The table is down and the port side double, starboard single. Squabs come off to give extra room.

  • Companionway stairs looking forward

Set up with a full table, the left leaf folds down to make a smaller table and room to move forwards.

    Forward quarter berth through door.

  • Main Saloon with the table set up.

A folding leaf table gives you the option of a large table or a small table with room to move.

  • Galley

Directly to the right of the companionway.

To the left of the sink is a generous pantry. Under the sink are three shelves for cutlery and dishwashing equipment, pots and pans, and utensils. Behind the sink is a second pantry (where we have a Soda Stream set-up).

  • Gimbled Mariner Princess Stove Top

    Gas solenoid above the stove.

Fully equipped and ready for summer.

  • Mariner Princess Oven

There isn't much you can't whip up in her. Our favourite two are a saltwater ciabatta or an Edmonds premix double chocolate fudge brownie.

  • Fridge/Freezer

On the starboard side under the chart table.

  • Birds eye view of the fridge/freezer.

Not sure what the volume is exactly, but large/ Those are soda stream bottles.

  • Brand new switch panel

This year we up-graded the switch panel and battery management system.

We run a single house and engine battery (the previous batteries did 15 years). We don’t plug into the marina power or run solar power, relying on the alternator to charge the batteries as needed. This has not been an issue for us.

All the lights are now LED.

  • Another look at the panel in the day light.

    Room for one more.

  • Back of the switch panel.

Mostly witchcraft, but made sense to label everything as we went.

  • Batteries mounted under starboard quarter berth.

Replaced in 2019 with Bosch HCM27-700 (2 of 12v 95 AH batteries) and largely forgotten about, monitoring battery health off the panel or SIMRAD.

  • Battery Switches

Upgraded this year. Manages the batteries well.

The hole to the right was for the old master switch. It needs to be filled to isolate the engine noise and fumes.

  • Epirb, VHF and Electrics Panel.

Located on the starboard side next to the companionways steps.

  • VHF and Charging Station

Has two USB charging ports and a cigarette lighter plug for our 12V vacuum cleaner.

  • Starboard Quarter Berth

The squab needs some work, but it’s comfortable.

    See the gaff?

    The exhaust pipe out.

  • Chart Table, VHF and Charging Station

The fridge and freezer is found under the chart table.

We’ve had some water ingress recently but haven’t managed to find the source.

  • A shot of the bilge

The reality is, I’ve never had any use for the bilge pump. Not because we haven’t had any water in the bilge, but because there hasn’t been sufficient for it to work - a sponge at best.

  • Keel Bolts

The previous owner surrounded the bolts with a gypsum type product to ensure there were no hard edges to kick. The bolts are then under two layers of carpet.

  • Storage under the starboard berth.

In this storage is the tool kits etc. Plenty of room for other things.

There are three storage areas in total on the starboard side. The middle one holds a 60 water bladder. I have a replacement for the new owner to install.

The forward storage area has all the engine spares - oil filters, belts, o rings, oil, fuel conditioner.

  • Storage under the starboard saloon berth.

    Fitting covers, all labelled.

  • Under the carpet

The panels can be screwed down, however we prefer easy access.
