Cruising
After a 10 day cruise from Auckland to Whangamata via Coromandel, Great Barrier, Mercury Island, and Whitianga.
Perfection proved herself to be a very capable fishing boat, and great surf support vessel.

7/8th Fractional Rig.
A powerful rig. Needs a bit of care and attention to keep her under control.
Comfortable at full sail to 25 knots, then a reefing down.
-
Anchor locker
Re-built 2018. Planned to replace anchor chain and rope 2023. Currently with 20mm 8 gauge chain and 50m rope.
Due a repaint 2022.
Current anchor and chain combination means Perfection has never dragged. We were out in 70 knots in 2018! Don’t want to do it again, but confident in the set-up.
-
A brand new dodger for 2021
It creates a great storage space as well as protection from the elements.

So nice to freshen up after a swim.
-
Sail Cover
It’s doing okay. We gave her a tickle up in 2021, but she needs constant attention.
-
She's a classic.
We don’t have engine hours, and occasionally we don’t have a tachometer, but she starts every time, first turn.
We cruise at 2000-2400 rpm, and that gives us 5-5.5 knots. You can see a lot of the world at that speed.
-
Our navigation, depth, and sound system - all in one.
We love our SIMRAD.
Simrad GO7 (New 2016) 7" Multi-touch chart plotter with built in Echosounder, GPS and NMEA 2000 interface. No Transducer. Nav+ Chart card of New Zealand and Australia. P319 Plastic Low Profile 600 W Thru Hull 50/200Khz Depth/Temp - blue 7 pin connector.
We also have back-up depth sounder through our navman, but have never used it.
-
New Fusion Cockpit Speakers in 2016
Controlled via the SIMRAD.
-
New Antifouling 2022
We’ve used Pine Harbour Boat Painters to professionally prepare and antifoul perfection. This includes her hull, stern leg and prop (prop-speed).
